Happy Birthday to Me

Ok so this is an early birthday late christmas present for me. I saw it at costco about a month ago and have been saving up ever since and I was finally able to get it. I am so excited i can't even stand it!!! For those of you who don't know what this is it is The Complete Gilmore Girls collection!!! This is one of those shows that you can watch over and over again!!!

I hope that eveyone had a great Christmas! We sure did! Nate got to get out of the hospital for a few hours and see ashlyn open up all her presents....well she really wasn't as interested in that part like i thought she would be, but it was still alot of fun. I will show pictures and tell some of the stories later. But first the guys in our family got their nails painted by Presley and we decided to have a beautiful hands competiton and share the fun with all of you!! You have to check out this website. She has a spinal cord injury almost like nates. She is the cutest thing ever! She gave us a calandar that she drew that is amazing! She weaves the pen in between her fingers to draw, it is something to see! Amy you should check it out!

Fundraiser

This is from my dada email and i thought that it summed everything up nicely!

Hi everybody,I would like to apologize for the people that donated items and did not get them into the raffle or auctions. It wasn't that we did not want them there, it was because we were overwhelmed with what items we got and the RSVP's we received the final day. It really caught us off guard, we had no clue of what we were up against. When I made the decision to do the pulled pork by ourselves we were sitting at 75 people, figuring maybe 150 people. That is just a little bit under the 429 people that paid for dinner, I am responsible for that decision. I figured dinner was the first thing on our list we needed to take care of. I hope everybody was satisfied with what the "PULLED PORKING" team from Boswell Olsen and the side dishes prepared by Marvellous Catering. If not I will send you your money back. Going from 50 pounds of pork to 250 pounds in a couple of days for people that do millwork and doors for a living is a little bit of a task. It was our main priority to get people fed and try to find some seats for everybody to eat. Luckily the owner of My Noah's, Bill Bowser, was remodeling rooms on the third floor. I told him my dilemma and he made the room he was working on presentable for serving people that night. THE PEOPLE AT MY NOAH'S ARE SOME OF THE BEST PEOPLE YOU WILL EVER MEET. They did every thing possible from moving people upstairs that had booked rooms on the first floor so we could fit the first wave of people in to helping clean up from midnight to one in the morning. Thanks Bill for your generous donation of using your facility.As for the items that never got put into the the auctions or raffles if you want to come and get them you can. Some people already have.If people want I can list them for a while and we can have a little auction on line on this Blog to sell these items off, or we can give them to Nate and Kendall and see what they want to do with them. Most of them are food coupons and overnight stays at some really nice places.The only things I want to auction off is the Ginger bread house that Marc Grill completed on time and Kelly put it up on a shelf so Ashlyn would not destroy it and Maurine Mcquivey's facials. My opening bid is 100.00 dollars a piece, 300 dollars total. Anybody wanting to bid higher let me know. This is the first banquet that i have never bid on anything or bought raffle tickets too, you people had me too busy. I will put up a list tomorrow on what items are left over.In closing, the people that attended the banquet, bought tickets for the Vespa and television raffle, my employees, friends (I hope they still are), my brothers Craig and Kim, The Mule Deer Foundation, Mike Laughter who lost his best friend a day before fundraiser and still showed up, Wayne from MDF who took all your money and knew how to run a credit card machine, Ducks Unlimited Gerald Olsen who looks good in leather chaps, Rick Britton who runs the Ducks Unlimited in Utah County, Scotty from Flirts who ran the bar, my children, Danielle and Andy and John Bair the auctioneer, anybody that can sell four of my turkey breasts for 100 dollars a piece, sell a gun back to the same guy that donated it and best of all sell our golf tournament for 1,000 dollars per person, (by the way if anybody wants to by one at that price, I have only 68 spots left, the proceeds will go to Nate) is pretty good auctioneer in my eyes. Bart, my cousin from Olsen's Greenhouse who had to go back and buy some Poinsettias to supply the tables. Also, thanks to the gal that gave me the pink envelope at the night of the auction. We had a successful night. If you'd like to know how much was raised, give me a call. Thanks all you people, you are the greatest. I now need to go set up Kelly's Christmas tree for her while she's still out shopping. She is getting really sick and hasn't had much energy to do much today so she put me in charge of babysitting and decorating. She didn't think it was funny that I put a strand of lights around the box. Another in closing, Rick Huffman, we have your knife sheath and box. Call me and we can get that to you. He got to see ashlyn

Yeah we were able to bring Ashlyn to the hospital and nate downstairs so that he could be with her for a few hours. I don't have a way to put the pictures on my computer yet but once i do i will post them. It was so good for him to see her and she didn't cry which is what i was worried about. she was crawling all over the chair and spitting and being so cute. I was really glad that he was able to see her. I think that we are going to make two days out of the week that she comes up and then if anyone else wanted to come up at that time to see Nate they could. It is out in the lobby of the hospital so we could have a big party and they wouldn't care. hehehe

i am so horrible about updating this thing since i got a facebook page. I forget that i have a blog. Nate is doing good he is in therapy right now, he will probably be there for 8-10 weeks. The worst part about the whole thing is that they are being so strickt on the visitors. he is supposed to pick 6 visitors that can visit him throughout his stay, and they don't want any babies their. It makes sense but still sucks at the same time. Hopefully he will be able to go out side of the hospital soon and then he can see her then.
Nate is doing good he has been keeping a good attitude throughout this whole thing and i am so impressed with him! I don't think that i would be as strong. the times that he gets down is when i am home with the baby for a few days and dont see him. The doctors say that he is doing really good for how soon his accident was. he still has no feeling form his chest down. Nobody can tell us if or when that will chage because noone really knows they say that time will tell. He might go 6 months with no feeling and then one day he might be able to move his toes. I wish that i could look forward and know how the outcome would be either good or bad. I have put my faith in the lord and know that he will take care of my family and i am amazed at the peaceful feeling i have that everything will be alright. I am so thankful for all the prayers and fasting that everyone has done on our behalf i can definatly feel them working. You just never know how much support and love you have around you until something happens. Thanks to all of my support i would not be able to do this without you!!

updates

so i just have to tell you that nate is heading into surgery now to finish the surgery that was interupted on sunday. we have been able to communicate with Nate since my dad taught him "sign language" he can now give us "hugs". he went into surgery at around 4:30 this evening so we are just waiting for him to get out and i will get an update. he has made movement in his wrists so that is an improvement from yesterday!!!

i was going to be brave and write some feeling about the last couple of days on here but i am just too exhausted right now. if you have not heard nate was in an acciendent and broke his neck bons they took him into surgery sunday night but had to stop because of complications ans they are planning to starting back up on thurseday. he keeps getting better so i know that the prayer poeple have been saying are working if it is one thing that i beleive in it is the power of prayer/ blessings it has a way of calming you down in situations like this. please keep him in your hearts and prayers.
the good new is that he didn't cut the spinal cord he just pinched it so i am praying that he gets the lesson that he was supposed to learn from this and that his body will be back to normal. thank you for all the calls and support i will try to update as soon as i can. please keep us in your prayers!!

3 weeks

Well it has been 3 weeks since i got laid off and it has been rough! this stay at home thing is hard! I think that i have gotten less done then when i was working. Here are some things that have kept be busy

Hell Week

well my week started off with me breaking my chair at work. All i did was sit on it and snap right in half. I thought that i jsut feel off it, because i do that sometimes, until i looked down an saw this

Yep the base split right in half. The next day I got laid off from work. I am so glad that it is a new week. I joke and say that instead of going through the hassel of getting a new chair they just let me go. I have to put on a brave face or else i will drive myself crazy!!

Grandpa

This is my dad, no really it is, for those of you who have never seen him without a mustache ( including me ) this might come as a shock to you. Ashlyn dosen't even recognize him he wanted to hold her and the second i let go she gave her little poutty face and started crying! she had the biggest tears streaming down her face, and for a baby that is not supposed to have tears that is some mayjor crying lol! And all i could do was laugh at her. Boy i am a mean mommy!

My Garden

So I Planted these flower in July of 2008 and they finnaly appeared in June 2009. They are the cutest flowers that I have ever seen and I can't wait to see how what these flowers will look like in full Bloom!

Erin you are an amazing photographer. The fact that Ashlyn was so fussy through this entire thing says something. These pictures turned out so good!! Ashlyn was 4 weeks old in these pictures, she has changed so much and has gotten so big!

I like the fact that she is fussy in this picture because it looks like I am trying to be a mother and calm her down. Its real not posed and I really love that about this picture.

Thats right that is my baby hanging from a branch, but she is not that far off the ground.
