Ok Kendal i have a list for you of the must haves I use on a day to day basis.
for you
must have book is
What to Expect the First year, it has everything you need to know!
if you are going to breastfeed you are going to need:
1. nursing bra
2.nursing pads i prefer the Johnson and Johnson brand
3. Lansinoh (this is for when your nipples get sore it helps heal, protect, and soothes them.) They will probably be sore for a couple of weeks so get prepared for that...lol
4.breast pump
for Baby
Diapers (have a package of newborn and size 1) my baby skipped the whole newborn diaper phase he went straight to size 1...lol
Rubbing alcohol
Q tips
Saline nasal spray (if you spray this up you baby's nose everyday it will help keep your baby from getting sick!) it doesn't matter what brand i just get whatever is cheapest
cool mist humidifier ( also helps keep baby from getting sick. since it is cold and flu season take precautions you don't want your baby to get RSV which is like pneumonia for babies.)
Wet wipes I would get the costco brand if you have a costco membership. I also like huggies brand
binky I prefer the gerber nuk brand with the rubber nipple my babies have always taken that one without any problems
bottles just in case breastfeeding isn't going so well or just to supplement... i use the Playtex drop in system i love it!
baby wash
baby lotion (you won't need the lotion until your baby is a month old. they recommend not to use lotion until your baby is a month old.)
Thermometer
baby finger nail clippers
socks
receiving blankets
onesies
burp cloths
wash cloths
bibs
baby clothes
Life saver items
boppy
swing or a bouncer!
and of course a Car seat!
that is what i use, and all that i can think of at the moment.
i hope this helps!
Hey Kendall, I linked your blog from facebook. I can't believe you are having a baby. That is so crazy. Congrats. I have a blog but it is private. you can email me at kacy215@gmail.com and I can add you if you would like. But I say a must have is lots and lots of diapers. I always try to have several months of diapers, wipes and a years worth of lotion and baby wash. Also a must have is a wonder aquarium for the crib with a remote. Then when they baby starts fussing you can start it from the door and it helps soothe them. Also get a bouncer chair that has the vibrating and massaging with music. Don't waste your money on a big high chair. Just get the reclining fancy boosters that will hook to your kitchen chairs. That way you can put it on your floor in living room or whatever to feed when they start eating food. Plus the other ones take up too much room. The best socks to buy are the bobby socks from Walmart or target. They stay on their little feet better. Another Must have is a "Good" breast pump if you are going to nurse. If you can afford a nice electric one I would highly recommend it. The hand ones suck. But good luck with your little girl. They are so much fun.
